Published:

Overview

In the realm of data management and analytics, maintaining up-to-date information is crucial for accurate analysis, reporting, and decision-making. Bold BI supports this need through its data source refresh feature for the extract mode data sources, which updates existing data with the latest available information. However, there may be instances where a data source refresh fails. To address this, Bold BI provides diagnostic logs that can be accessed to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data source refreshes.

Accessing Refresh Logs

To access the diagnostic logs for extract mode data source refreshes in Bold BI, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to Data Sources

Go to the data sources listing page. Here, you will find all the data sources accessible to you based on your permissions.

Step 5: Save Refresh Logs

You can copy the refresh logs and save them in a notepad for further analysis.

  • The refresh log will display tooltip information indicating whether it has been deleted after a certain period from its creation time or if it is unavailable due to being an older refresh request.
  • Logs for each refresh will be automatically deleted after 15 days from their respective creation time.
  • Logs will be created only if a data source has been refreshed at least once.

Conclusion

By following these steps, users can effectively access and utilize the diagnostic logs in Bold BI to troubleshoot data source refresh issues. This ensures that data remains current and reliable for all analytical and decision-making processes.
