How to create data alerts in Bold BI?

Bold BI allows users to create data alerts for specific widgets or entire dashboards. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up these alerts.

Creating a Schedule

Steps to Create a Schedule

Select Dashboard:
- Click on the “Actions” button in the dashboard grid context menu and select “Create Schedule”.
  
  Alternatively, you can click on the “Schedule” option in the side menu to create a schedule.
Enter Schedule Details:
- Enter the schedule name.
- Choose the dashboard and widgets
- Enable “Data Alerts”.

Note: The Widget field must be unselected if you need a full dashboard in your data alert.

Setting Up Data Alerts

The Data Alert screen allows you to add conditions for the desired dashboards. Each condition includes the source column name, aggregation, and target column for comparison. A “Where Condition” can be added globally or for each individual condition.

Select the Widget: Choose the widget to which you want to add the threshold condition.
Choose a Condition: By default, the condition will be “Value Changes”.

Condition Types

Value Changes: Checks whether the filtered value changes and can be evaluated as either an expression or a single column.
Increases: Checks whether the filtered value increases once.
Continuously Increases: Checks whether the filtered value increases continuously.
Decreases: Checks whether the filtered value decreases once.
Continuously Decreases: Checks whether the filtered value decreases continuously.

Add More Conditions: Click on “Add Condition”.
Add Where Condition: Click the “Add Where Condition” button for each filter.
Column values can be compared with either custom or actual values. Actual values are listed from the database, while custom values are provided by the user.

Email Editor

The email editor allows you to edit the email body of the data alert mail and embed the selected database column values into the email body. The “Select Field” describes the database columns chosen on the data alert screen. The values of each inserted column can be replaced while sending mail by Bold BI.
