Does Bold BI Utilize Native Database Features?

Published:

Bold BI is designed to make the most of the native features offered by databases. When connected in live mode, Bold BI sends queries directly to the database in real-time. This approach ensures that the performance is optimized by utilizing the database’s capabilities to the fullest extent.

In live mode, the connection is established between Bold BI and the database, allowing for real-time data querying and retrieval. This means that any optimizations, indexing, or other native features provided by the database are leveraged to enhance the performance of the data visualization and reporting processes.

For more detailed information on how live mode SQL data sources work in Bold BI, you can refer to the following resources:

Note: It’s important to note that if you are using Bold BI in extract mode, the system optimizes the initial data retrieval process by leveraging the native features of the database for efficient extraction. Once the data is extracted, it is stored in Bold BI’s Datastore storage. In this scenario, the ongoing operations do not directly use the native database features, as the data interactions are with the extracted snapshot stored within Bold BI.
