How to Filter Dates by Financial Year in the Date Picker

To effectively utilize date filters in Bold BI, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of the various available options and their suitability for specific requirements. Among these, a frequently encountered necessity is filtering data based on the financial year. This objective can be accomplished by employing the “Relative Date Filter” feature. By incorporating a Relative Date Filter within the Date Picker widget, users are empowered to tailor the date range according to their preferences. The subsequent steps outline the process of creating a relative date filter within the date picker widget specifically for the financial year.

Create a Relative Date Filter by Financial Year in the Date Picker

1. Start by configuring the Date Picker widget and bind the date field.

2. Enable the range option in the properties panel under “Basic Settings.”

3. Once the range is enabled, the “Relative Date” option will be activated when you click on the configured field settings icon.

4. Click on the relative date field. This will display the “Relative Date Option” dialog box.
   

   

5. In the dialog box, click on the first drop-down and select “custom.” This allows you to customize the range according to your preference.

6. After choosing the custom option, you will have the option to select the start and end date. Choose both dates, provide a desired name, and click “add.”
   

   

7. The relative dates will be added.

8. Repeat step 6 to add as many financial years as you want. Click on “apply” once you are done.

9. On the design page, click on the date picker and select the calendar option. The added financial years will be listed, allowing you to choose any financial year to visualize the respective year’s details.
