How to Provide Create Permission to Dashboards and Other Items in the Bold BI Site

This article explains how to provide create permission to users to create dashboards and other items such as data sources, slide shows, schedules, and categories.
You can provide create permission in two ways:

  1. By providing Admin permission.
  2. By providing resource entity permission to create access.

Providing Admin permission to the user

By providing admin permission to the user, who can create, read, write, and delete all the resource entities such as dashboards, data sources, slide shows, schedules, and categories. To do this, you need to add the user to the System Administrator group. Follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to your Bold BI site (Eg: {domain_name}/bi/site/{site_identifier}) with an admin user account.
  2. Go to the Group listing page under Settings.
  3. Select the System Administrator group. image.png.
  4. Confirm the System Administrator group has its ID as 1, then select the user in the Add user drop down and then select the users for whom you want to provide the admin access.image.png.
  5. Now, the user will have all permissions.

Providing resource entity permission to create access

“To provide access to anyone of the resource entity such as dashboard, data source, schedule, slide show, and category, follow the steps below.”

  1. Go to the users or groups listing page in the Bold BI site.
  2. Select the Manage Permissions option for the menu as shown in the following to which user or group permission needs to be provided.

  3. Click the Add Permission button.

  4. Select the All Resources and then select any Entity. Then, select Create in the access mode.

  5. Then, click the Add button. Now the user or group will have permission to create the selected entity.
