How to bulk synchronize the published dashboards?

Published:
Bulk Synchronization

As you make changes in the original dashboard, you can synchronize those changes with the published sites. There are two approaches to bulk synchronize the published dashboards.

  • Item-based Synchronization
  • Site-based Synchronization
Item-based Synchronization

With item-based synchronization, you can bulk synchronize the specific dashboard across multiple published sites. Follow the below steps in the site from which that dashboard was published to other sites.

  1. Drag and drop the Name column in the Grid to the grouping panel, as shown in the following image. This will group by the dashboards published across multiple sites.

  2. To synchronize the changes of the particular group items (dashboards), click Synchronize near that group, as shown in the following image.

  3. The Status will display the synchronization progress near each item under that group. It displays the Success when the synchronization process of that item succeeds.

    Otherwise, it displays Failed.

  4. To find out the failure reason of corresponding dashboard synchronization, click the kebab menu in the Action column near that item row and choose Publish History.

Now click Failed near the failed job in the Publish History window to see the reason for synchronization failure.

In the aforementioned scenario, we synchronized the changes in the Hospital Management Dashboard to that of testing and production sites.

Site-based Synchronization

With site-based synchronization, you can bulk synchronize multiple dashboards published to a particular site. Follow the below steps in the site from which those dashboards were published to other sites.
  1. Drag and drop the Site Name column in the Grid to the grouping panel, as shown below.

       2. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 as discussed under the Item-based Synchronization for synchronizing the resources site-wise.

When we synchronize site-wise, bulk dashboards and data sources from that site will all get updated simultaneously. In the aforementioned scenario, we synchronized the changes in the Hospital Management Dashboard and the Patient Experience Analysis Dashboard to that of the site named 'production.'

Note:

  1. Bulk synchronization of the published dashboards can be done for both internal and external sites.
  2. Datasource bulk sync, which is similar to the dashboard.
  3. If the dashboard is synchronized, its associated data sources will also be synced.
