AI Language Support in Bold BI

Published:

Bold BI AI features provide multilingual support across AI-powered experiences, allowing users to interact with AI using their preferred language and view AI-generated content in a configured language.

Language support in Bold BI consists of two distinct capabilities:

  • Language Understanding: AI can understand and process user queries submitted in different languages.
  • Language Rendering: AI-generated content such as summaries and AI dialogs can be displayed in a specific language based on the configured language settings.

AI Language Understanding

Bold BI AI can understand and process queries in multiple languages without requiring any language configuration.

You can:

  • Ask questions in any supported language.
  • Interact with AI using different languages without changing application settings.
  • Submit multilingual queries to AI Assistant, AI Agent, AI Copilot, and Unified AI Agent.

For example, a user can ask a question in Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Tamil, or any other supported language, and the AI can understand the request without requiring any language settings to be configured.

NOTE: Language settings are not required for AI to understand user queries submitted in different languages.

When to Configure Language Settings

Although AI can understand user queries in any supported language, language settings must be configured when you want AI-generated content to be displayed in a specific language throughout the application.

Language configuration applies to:

  • AI Agent responses
  • AI Copilot responses
  • Unified AI Assistant responses
  • Dashboard Summary content
  • Widget Summary content
  • Other AI-generated content displayed within the application

For example, if your organization wants Dashboard Summaries and Widget Summaries to appear in French, German, or Japanese, you must configure the language settings described below.

Configuring Language Settings

  1. Navigate to Site Settings.
  2. Set the Application Language to localize the Bold BI user interface.

  2. Reload the application.
  3. Use an incognito or private browsing window and verify the behavior.

IMPORTANT: AI can understand queries submitted in different languages without any language configuration. However, to display AI-generated content, AI dialogs, Dashboard Summaries, and Widget Summaries in a specific language, you must configure both the Application Language and Data Language settings in Bold BI.
