Synchronize Pivot Grid Changes with Pivot Chart in Bold BI

Overview

In Microsoft Excel, changes made to a PivotTable are automatically reflected in the corresponding PivotChart, providing both tabular and visual representations of the same data.

A similar experience can be achieved in Bold BI by linking a Pivot Grid widget with a Pivot Chart. This allows users who prefer working with numbers and users who prefer graphical analysis to view the same data in their preferred format.

Steps to Configure

1. Open Bold BI: Log in to your Bold BI environment and open the Dashboard Designer.

2. Create or Select a Data Source: Create a new data source or select an existing data source that contains the required data.
   

   

3. Add the First Pivot Grid Widget: Drag and drop a Pivot Grid widget onto the dashboard canvas.
   

   

4. Configure the First Pivot Grid: Configure the Pivot Grid by defining the required fields.
   

   

5. Add a Second Pivot Grid Widget: Drag and drop another Pivot Grid widget onto the dashboard.

6. Configure the Second Widget: Configure the second widget using the same data source.

7. Enable Pivot Chart: Enable the Pivot Chart property in the second Pivot Grid widget to display the data as a chart.
   

   

8. Set the First Pivot Grid as the Master Widget: Configure the first Pivot Grid as the Master Widget.
   

   

9. Publish the Dashboard: Save and publish the dashboard.
