How to Resolve the "Dashboard Not Found" Error in Bold BI
Overview
In Bold BI, administrators can configure a Default Dashboard that automatically opens when users log in to the application. If the dashboard configured as the default is later deleted, users may encounter a “Dashboard Not Found” error during login because the application is attempting to load a dashboard that no longer exists.
This issue can be resolved by updating the Default Dashboard setting and selecting either None or another valid dashboard available within the site.
Cause
The issue occurs when a dashboard configured as the site’s Default Dashboard is deleted without updating the dashboard settings. Since Bold BI continues to reference the deleted dashboard, the system cannot load it during user login, resulting in the error.
Resolution
Follow the steps below to update the default dashboard configuration.
1. Navigate to Dashboard Settings
- Log in to the Bold BI application using an administrator account.
- Go to Site Settings.
- Open Dashboard Settings.
2. Locate the Default Dashboard Setting
- Find the Default Dashboard option configured for the site.
3. Update the Default Dashboard
If the configured default dashboard has been deleted, choose one of the following options:
- None – No dashboard will be opened automatically after login.
- Any Existing Dashboard – Select another available dashboard from the site.
4. Save the Changes
- Click Save to apply the updated configuration.
- Log out and log back in to verify that the issue has been resolved.
Best Practices
- Ensure the selected default dashboard is accessible to all intended users.
- Review default dashboard settings before deleting dashboards that may be referenced by site configurations.
- If a default landing page is not required, select None to prevent future dependency issues.
After updating the Default Dashboard setting:
Users can log in without encountering the “Dashboard Not Found” error.
The application either opens the newly selected dashboard or navigates users to the default landing page when None is selected.
