Support for Including First Name in Scheduled Emails

This article explains how to incorporate the recipient’s first name into the addressing section of scheduled emails by utilizing the email template feature. This feature improves personalization in email interactions.

Method 1: Using Email Template Settings

  1. Prior to updating the email template, please review the link for instructions on configuring email templates.
  2. Navigate to Email Settings, go to the Templates tab and select either a Timed Dashboard Export or Alert-Driven Dashboard Export based on your preference.

  3. Click the context menu (three dots) of the preferred dashboard export and select View.

  4. Click on Create Template or Copy default template.

  5. After the template is created, click Edit from the template’s context menu.

  6. In the email body content, insert the expression {:FirstName} and save the template.

  7. Create a schedule using the customized template. When the schedule is triggered, the email will include the recipient’s first name.

Method 2: While Creating the Schedule

  1. Navigate to Email Settings, go to the Templates tab and select either a Timed Dashboard Export or Alert-Driven Dashboard Export based on your preference.
  2. Click the context menu (three dots) of the preferred dashboard export and select View.
  3. Click on Create Template or Copy default template.
  4. During the schedule creation process, on the Customize the email page:
    • Select a custom template from the Email Template dropdown (instead of the default one).
    • Enable the Email Customization toggle option to allow editing the email content.
    • Update the email body to include {:FirstName}.

  5. Complete the schedule creation.
  6. Once the schedule is executed, the recipient will receive an email with their first name dynamically included.
