Customizing Drill-Down Column Colors in Bold BI

This article explains how to customize the color of each column in a drill-down chart within Bold BI. Applying individual styling to data points at various drill levels can enhance the visual clarity and better align the chart with your dashboard’s theme or user preferences.

Please find the steps to customize colors for each column in a drill-down chart in Bold BI.

1. Drag and drop the Column Chart widget onto your dashboard. Set the value and column fields based on your data requirements.
   
   

2. Click on the chart to open the Properties panel. Under the Formatting section, click on Advanced Settings.
   
   

3. Enable Individual Color Mapping:

• • Set Color Type to Individual.

  • In the Based On dropdown, select the drill-down field (e.g., Month, Year).

  • Assign different colors to each value (e.g., Jan, Feb, Mar, etc.).

  • Click Save to apply your customized color configuration.

This feature ensures each level of your drill-down hierarchy is visually distinct, making it easier for users to interpret the data.
