How to Enable Excel-Style Filters in the Grid Widget in Bold BI

Bold BI provides a feature in the Grid widget that allows users to apply filters in a format similar to Excel. This functionality enhances data analysis by enabling users to filter data quickly and efficiently.

Below are the steps to enable and use Excel-style filters in the Grid widget.

Step 1: Open Grid Widget Settings

Navigate to the grid widget settings.

Step 2: Enable Allow Filter Option

Enable the Allow Filter option in the filter section.

Step 3: Select Filter Type

Once Allow Filter is enabled, the filter type dropdown will be visible. By default, the filter type is set to Bar. You can change this by selecting the desired filter from the FilterType dropdown menu. The available options include Excel, Bar, and Menu.

Excel

Once set to Excel, you can apply filters similar to those in Excel, allowing for a more intuitive data filtering experience.

Bar

Allows users to enter values in a textbox for filtering and is useful for direct keyword-based filtering.

Menu

Displays filtering options in a menu format. Allows users to select values from a structured dropdown menu.
