Restricting Non-Admin Users to View Only the Latest Version of Dashboards and Data Sources
To enhance the management of dashboard and data source versions, a new improvement has been introduced that limits non-admin users with read-only access to view only the latest version. This ensures that users without edit permissions can access only the latest version of item, while previous versions remain restricted.
Steps to Enable the Restriction
Step 1 : Go to Settings page by using the URL - {yourdomain}/ums/administration
Step 2 : In the Settings page, click the Configuration tab.
Step 3 : In the configuration dropdown menu select the bi/config.xml file.
Step 4 : Select the node CanShowOnlyCurrentVersion and set value to true, then save the settings.
If the node CanShowOnlyCurrentVersion is not available in the configuration file. Please add the node and set value to true.
By following these steps, non-admin users with read-only access will only be able to view the latest version of dashboards and data sources. Admin users and those with edit permissions will still have access to the complete version history of the dashboard and data source
