How to Display Widget Content as Table in Scheduled Export Emails

To include widget content as table data in your scheduled Excel export emails, follow these steps:

  1. Add a Schedule:

    • Go to the schedule page and click on the “Create Schedule” dialog.
  2. Configure the Export:

    • Select the category, dashboard, widget, or view you need to schedule and export.
    • Click “Next” to proceed.

  3. Include the Excel Export Expression:

    • Add the parameter {:ExcelExportWidget} in the body of the email.
    • Position this parameter wherever you want the widget table data to appear in the email content.
    • Click “Next” to continue.

  4. Go Next for Schedule Configuration:

    • Recurrence Type: Decide how often the export should occur (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
    • Users: Specify which users should receive the exported view.
  5. Choose Export Type:

    • Choose Excel format from export type dropdown.
    • Select the Response Type from the dropdown menu (Attachment, Inline, Both). The default option is set to Attachment.
      • Attachment: When this option is selected, the widget will be sent as an attachment in the scheduled email.
      • Inline: Selecting this option will embed the widget details within the body of the scheduled email.
      • Both: This option allows for the widget details to be included in the body of the email as well as sent as an attachment.

    You cannot add users to the recipients before configuring the email settings.

  6. After configuring all the setup, click Schedule to schedule the dashboard export.

  7. Verify the Schedule:

    • Use the “Run Now” option from the schedule listing page menu to ensure the schedule is set up correctly and the widget content of exported dashboard widget is displayed as expected.

By following these steps, you can successfully include the last data refresh time in your scheduled export emails.
