Adjusting Background Images in Card widgets

Published:

When uploading an image as a background in cards, it is essential to ensure that the image fits the widget properly. If the image does not cover the entire widget area, it may be due to the dimensions of the image or the widget, as well as the settings applied to the image mode.

Key Considerations

  1. Image and Widget Dimensions: The size of the background image should be compatible with the dimensions of the widget. If the image is smaller than the widget, it may not cover the entire area.

  2. Image Mode Settings: The “Image Mode” properties play a crucial role in how the background image is displayed. To ensure that the background image fits correctly, consider the following “Image Mode” options available in the “Background” properties.

    • Default: The image is displayed in its original size. This may lead to parts of the widget being uncovered if the image is smaller than the widget.
    • Fill: The image will fill the available space within the widget. This option may distort the image if the aspect ratio of the image does not match that of the widget.
    • Uniform to Fill: The image will uniformly occupy the space but may be clipped if it is larger than the widget. This option maintains the aspect ratio while ensuring the image covers the widget area.
    • Uniform: The image sizes proportionally (without clipping) to best fit the widget area. This option ensures that the entire image is visible, but it may leave some space uncovered if the aspect ratios do not match.

Recommended Actions

To achieve the best results when setting a background image, consider the following steps:

  • Check the dimensions of both the image and the widget to ensure compatibility.
  • Experiment with different “Image Mode” settings in the “Background” properties to find the best fit for your needs.
