How to Create an Oracle Cluster for Deploying Bold BI

This KB article provides instructions on creating an Oracle cluster for Bold BI deployment. It involves a series of steps within the Oracle Cloud environment. Follow the instructions below to set up your Oracle cluster effectively.

Step 1: Log in to Oracle Cloud

Log in to your Oracle Cloud account using your credentials.

Step 2: Search for OKE

In the search box, type OKE to quickly locate the Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE).

Step 3: Create a Cluster

Click the Create cluster button to create a new cluster.

Step 4: Quick Create Cluster

Select the option for a quick create cluster and proceed by submitting the form.

Step 5: Fill in Cluster Details

On the Create Cluster (Quick) page, provide the following details:

  • Name: Enter your desired cluster name.
  • Compartment: Choose your specified compartment.
  • Kubernetes Version: Select the preferred Kubernetes version.
  • Kubernetes API Endpoint: Choose the public endpoint for the API.
  • Node Type: Select the managed node type.
  • Kubernetes Worker Node: Choose public Kubernetes worker nodes.
  • Node Shape: Select VM.Standard2.16 as the node shape.
  • Node Count: Enter 2 for the number of nodes.

Once all information is entered, submit the form.

Step 6: Access the Cluster

After the cluster is created, click on the cluster name and then click on the Access Cluster button.

Step 7: Local Access Setup

Click on the local access button and follow the instructions provided on the page to complete the setup.
