Customizing Data Labels in Pie and Proportional Charts on Dashboards

This article explores different methods for representing data labels in pie charts on a dashboard. You can choose to display data as a category, value, percentage, or a combination of these options. The same flexibility applies to other proportional charts, such as Doughnut, Funnel, and Pyramid charts.

Steps to Change Data Label

  1. Open the Property Panel: Click the Pie Chart settings icon to open the property panel.

  2. Select Data Label: In the property panel, use the Data Label drop-down menu to select the desired type.

Data Label Options

  1. Category: Displays the category name of each data point.

  2. Value: Shows the numerical value of each data point.

  3. Percentage: Displays the percentage that each data point contributes to the total.

  4. Category and Value: Shows both the category name and the numerical value.

  5. Category and Percentage: Displays both the category name and the percentage.

  6. Value and Percentage: Shows both the numerical value and the percentage.

  7. All Details: Displays the category name, numerical value, and percentage for each data point.

You can choose to display the data labels in any of the above formats to provide better insights and clarity.
