How can we restrict the date range to which users can query the data on the dashboards?

Published:

When managing data visibility on dashboards, it is essential to restrict the date range for which users can query data. This can be effectively achieved using the User Filter module in conjunction with the Relative Date Filter.

Using the Relative Date Filter

To restrict the date range, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Date Column: Begin by selecting the date column you wish to filter.

Available Relative Periods

The Relative Date Filter provides a variety of predefined relative periods, including:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • Last Week
  • Last Month
  • And more

This filter dynamically calculates the periods based on the current date. For instance, if “Last Week” is selected, the filter will automatically include data from the previous week.

Previewing the Filter’s Impact

To ensure that the filter is applied correctly, you can preview its impact on specific users or groups. This feature allows you to select the desired user or group and observe how the filter affects the displayed data. By reviewing the preview, you can confirm that the data filtering aligns with the intended time periods for the selected users or groups.
