Resolving Windows Authentication Pop-Up When Accessing Data Source in Bold BI

When accessing a data source in the Bold BI application, you might encounter a Windows Authentication pop-up. This issue can be resolved by adjusting the authentication settings in the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. Follow the steps below to disable Windows Authentication and ensure smooth access to your data source.

Steps to Disable Windows Authentication in IIS

  1. Open IIS Manager:
    • Search to open the IIS Manager.
  2. Navigate to the Bold BI Application:
    • Click on the Bold BI application and bi folder to select it.

  1. Access the Authentication Settings:

    • Double-click on the Authentication feature.
  2. Disable Windows Authentication:

    • Click on Windows Authentication to select it.
    • In the Actions pane on the right, click Disable.

  3. Verify the Changes:

  • Ensure that Windows Authentication is now disabled.

  1. Restart IIS (if necessary):
    • Sometimes, changes may require restarting the IIS server.
    • In the Actions pane, click Restart to restart the IIS server.

After completing these steps, the Windows Authentication pop-up should no longer appear when accessing the data source in the Bold BI application.
