Configuring relative date filters by including the current period's data in a date picker on the cloud environment

Published:

Bold BI Dashboard offers a flexible way to filter data using relative dates, including options to encompass months, quarters, years, and weeks. The “Include Current” option in the relative date filter allows you to view the current period’s data (such as the current year, month, week, etc.) in all associated widgets of the Date Picker widget. This guide will walk you through the steps to configure a relative date filter that includes the current period’s data.

This feature only available on the Bold BI Cloud Analytics Server

Steps to Configure Relative Date Filters

1. Configure the Date Picker

Configure the date picker with the required date field. This data will be used to filter the dashboard based on the selected date range.

4. Enable or Disable the “Include Current” Option

The “Include Current” option allows you to include the current period’s data such as current month, current year, current quarter, or current week in your filter. Enable or disable the check box labeled “Include Current” based on your specific needs. You can add, edit or delete the filters added in the “Relative Date Options” dialog.

Example Scenario

If you want to filter data to include the last 20 days plus the current day, the example would be:

  1. Set the relative date filter to cover the last 12 days.
  2. Check the “Include Current” option to ensure the present day is included in the filter.

By following these steps, you can create a relative date filter that spans from 20 days ago to the end of the current day, such as from 6/18/2024 to 7/8/2024.
