How to copy expressions across data sources?
Transferring Expressions Between Data Sources
When using Bold BI dashboards, you may need to reuse expressions in different data sources. Currently, there is no direct way to copy expressions. Here are the steps to ensure successful transfer of expressions between data sources of same connection type.
Step 1: Duplicate the Dashboard and Data Source
Begin by copying the dashboard you wish to duplicate. Along
with the dashboard, make sure to copy the respective data source that is
associated with it.
Step 2: Access the Copied Data Source
In the duplicated dashboard, navigate to the data source
section. Here, you should find the copied data source that was associated with
the original dashboard.
Step 3: Verify the Expressions
Check the expressions within the copied data source. These expressions should be the same as the ones you have created in the original dashboard's data source.
Step 4: Edit the Connection String
To finalize the process, edit the copied data source and update the connection string accordingly. This step is crucial to ensure that the data source is correctly linked to the identical column names used in the original dataset.
By following these steps, the expressions will be maintained in the copied data source, allowing for a seamless transition between the original and duplicated dashboards.
