Troubleshooting Category Visibility Issues in Bold BI

When using Bold BI, some users may encounter an issue where categories are not visible in the category list, despite having admin access and visible dashboards on the dashboard listing page. This can prevent users from scheduling dashboards, as selecting a category is a prerequisite in the scheduling dialogue box. This article provides a solution to resolve this visibility issue.

Issue Description

The problem arises when the Bold BI tenant has date formats of either “DD/MM/YYYY” or “DD-MM-YYYY”. You can use other than these specific date formats to resolve the issue of categories not appearing in the category list.

Resolution Steps

To address this issue, users should change the date format in the site settings. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Navigate to the site settings page by going to the following URL: {domain}/bi/site/{siteidentifier}/administration/site.
  2. On the site settings page, select date formats other than the following date formats, “DD/MM/YYYY” or “DD-MM-YYYY”.
  3. After changing the date format, verify that the categories are now listed on the dashboard page.

By following these steps, the categories should become visible, and users will be able to schedule dashboards as needed.
