Combine Multiple Excel Files into One Data Source in Bold BI

In Bold BI, you can connect multiple Excel files into a single data source by using the folder upload option or the append data feature. This guide will walk you through both methods.

Method 1: Using the Folder Upload Option for a new connection

Steps:

  1. Open the Excel Data Source:

    • Navigate to the Excel data source section in Bold BI.
  2. Choose the Folder in the File Path Section:

    • Place all the Excel files you want to connect in one folder.
  3. Upload the Folder and Create the Data Source:

    • Select the folder containing your Excel files.

    • Upload the folder to create the data source.

The sheets will be combined into a single table if the schema is the same across all files.

Method 2: Using the Append Data Feature for existing connection

Steps:

  1. Edit the Existing File Data Source (Excel):

    • Open the existing Excel data source you want to append data to.
  2. Access the Data Source Designer Page:

    • Click on the append data feature.

  3. Drag and Drop or Upload the File You Want to Append:

    • Add the file you want to append to the existing data source.

  4. Save the Data Source:

    • Once the process is complete, save the data source.

You can only append one file at a time. If you need to append multiple files, repeat the process for each file. The sheet you are appending and the existing data source table must have the same schema.
