Enhancing Data Analysis with the Pivot Grid Custom Widget in Bold BI

Bold BI has introduced a new feature that allows users to add a dimension section to the Pivot Grid as a custom widget. This enhancement brings basic functionalities to the Pivot Grid, enabling users to configure dimensions more effectively.

Dimension Configuration in the Pivot Grid

To configure dimensions in the Pivot Grid, users can now utilize numbers as strings and configure string fields accordingly. This feature provides a more flexible approach to managing data within the Pivot Grid.

Bold BI allows you to add a Pivot Grid custom widget to your application. This guide will walk you through the process of downloading, publishing, and configuring the widget.

Step 1: Download the Custom Widget: Obtain the Pivot Grid Custom widget file from the source or attachment provided.

Step 2: Publish the Custom Widget: Use the help link to guide you through the process of publishing the custom widget to your Bold BI application.

Step 3: Locate the Custom Widget: Once the widget is published, it can be found under the Miscellaneous section of the designer panel in the Bold BI application.

Step 4: Drag and Drop the Widget: First, find the PivotGrid Custom widget in the Bold BI interface. Click and hold the widget, then drag it onto the designer canvas. In the Assign data section, you will find the Dimension section. Once the widget is placed, you can then bind data to it.

Step 5: Configure Dimensions:

  1. Use the provided options to configure your dimensions using numbers as strings.
  2. Adjust the string fields as necessary to match your data requirements.

Limitations

It is important to note that there are certain limitations when using the custom Pivot Grid widget:

  • Customization of colors within the widget is not supported.
  • Linking capabilities are not available in the custom widget.
  • There is a data limit that cannot be exceeded within the custom widget.

These limitations are in place to ensure the stability and performance of the custom widget within the Bold BI environment.
