Removing table Joins in Bold BI

Published:

When working with data in Bold BI, you may need to modify or remove a data join that you have previously created. This can be necessary for various reasons, such as changing data relationships or correcting a join that was not set up as intended. Below are the steps to remove a data join in Bold BI.

Steps to Remove a Data Join

  1. Access the Data Source:

    • Navigate to the Bold BI dashboard and open the data source where the join exists that you wish to remove.
  2. Open Data Design View:

    • Click on the ‘Data Sources’ option in the configuration panel to open the data design view.

  3. Locate the Join:

    • In the data design view, you will see a visual representation of your tables and the joins between them. Locate the join that you want to remove.
  4. Remove the Join:

    • With the join selected, you should see an option to delete or remove the join. This could be a delete icon (cancel icon). Click on this icon to remove the join.

  5. Save Changes:

    • After removing the join, make sure to save your changes to the data source. This will update the data model and remove the join from your dashboard’s data.
  6. Verify the Removal:

    • It’s a good practice to verify that the join has been removed as expected. You can do this by checking the relationships between tables in the data design view or by running a preview of the data to ensure that the join is no longer affecting the results.

Removing a join can affect the data displayed in your dashboard. Ensure you understand how this change will impact your visualizations and reports.
