How to Effectively Managing the Dashboard Designer Canvas in Bold BI?

Published:

Overview

Bold BI dashboards provide a flexible canvas to create insightful and interactive data visualizations. The default canvas size is set to 48 columns by 24 rows, which accommodates a wide range of dashboard designs. However, there may be scenarios where additional space is required to display more data or complex visualizations. Bold BI supports scrollable dashboards, allowing users to add extra rows beyond the default size and also to remove them as needed.

Adding Additional Rows to the Dashboard

To expand the dashboard canvas and add new rows:

  1. Locate the “Add more rows” dialog in the dashboard designer area where the count is displayed.
  2. Enter the desired number of additional rows in dialog.
  3. Click the Done button to apply the changes.

For example, if you add four new rows to the default size, the total number of rows will increase to 28.

Dashboard Row Addition

Removing Extra Rows from the Dashboard

If you need to delete extra rows that were previously added:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the dashboard designer.
  2. Click on the + icon or element to open the dialog for row adjustment.
  3. Specify the number of rows to remove by entering the appropriate number in the row count dialog.
  4. If you wish to delete all extra rows, you may be able to enter “0” depending on the dialog’s functionality.

For instance, to remove two rows from a dashboard with 28 rows, reduce the row count to 26.

Dashboard Row Deletion

By utilizing these features, users can effectively manage the space on their dashboards, ensuring that all necessary data and visualizations fit neatly within the designed area.
