Data Refresh Workflow and Refresh Rate limitations in Bold BI

Introduction to Refresh data

What is refresh data

Data Refresh involves updating or replacing existing data with the most current data available. It is an essential process in data management and analytics as it ensures that the information used for analysis, reporting, and decision-making is accurate and up to date.

How to configure a data source refresh setting

While creating the data source, we can configure refresh settings.

  • We have to select the recursion type, recurrence, start, and end dates in the refresh setting dialog box.
  • Data refresh can be scheduled hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • The minimum data refresh interval time will be five minutes.
  • The Application Time Zone is displayed below the date picker. The start time of the schedule is converted to the client’s Time Zone and shown on the right side for the user’s convenience after selecting click on the Schedule button.
  • Data refresh failure notification can be sent to the owner of the data source with the error message and a link to the data source refresh history by enabling the send failure notification to owner option.
  • The application will deactivate the data refresh after a limited consecutive failure and send the disabled notification to the owner by mail.

Refresh Rate Limitations in Bold BI

Bold BI offers an unlimited refresh rate for both on-premises as well as Cloud.

Bold BI allows administrators to configure the data refresh rate according to the organization’s specific needs. This means that dashboards and reports can be set to update as frequently as required, without any limitations.

The refresh rate can be customized for each data source, ensuring that the most current data is always displayed.

In Scheduling, the minimum data refresh interval time will be five minutes.
We can also refresh the data manually by clicking the Action button in the Data sources grid context menu and selecting the Refresh Data option.
