Published:

Visualizing data effectively is crucial for understanding complex datasets and making informed decisions. In Bold BI, users have the flexibility to customize their data visualizations to suit their needs. One common request is to transform the shape of data points in a heatmap from squares to circles. Configuring the Heatmap Widget for Circular Data Points

To generate circles in a heatmap within Bold BI, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Heatmap Widget: Navigate to the dashboard where you wish to create a circular heatmap and select the Heatmap widget from the visualization options.

  2. Size Configuration: Once you have the Heatmap widget on your dashboard, locate the ‘Size’ section in the widget’s Assign Data settings.

  3. Field Selection: In the ‘Size’ section, choose the field that you want to represent with circles. The values of this field will determine the size of the circles, allowing for a proportional representation of your data.

  4. Customization: After selecting the field, you can further customize the appearance of the circles. For more information on customizing heatmaps, refer to the documentation.

  5. Save and Preview: Once you are satisfied with the configuration, save your changes and preview the heatmap. You should now see your data points represented as circles instead of the default squares.
