How to Download and Upload Dashboards in Bold BI

Bold BI by Syncfusion allows users to manage their dashboards efficiently by providing the capability to download and upload dashboards. This feature is particularly useful when moving dashboards between different tenants or servers. It also offers the flexibility to update the connection strings during the process.

Downloading Dashboards

Preparing Dashboards for Download

1. Navigate to the dashboard grid and click on Actions in the context menu.
2. Select the Download option for the dashboard you wish to download.

Bulk Download

• To download multiple dashboards, select the desired dashboards using the checkbox list or use the Select All checkbox to select all dashboards on the page.
• Click the Download option or the download icon to initiate the download process.

Download Dialog

• A dialog box will appear with a description and a warning message.
• The Include sensitive information checkbox is selected by default. Uncheck it if necessary.
• Click on Prepare Download to start the download request.

Offline Resources Page

• Once the download is complete, go to the Offline Resources page to download the dashboards.
• Click the download icon for individual dashboards or select multiple dashboards and click the Download All button.Individual Dashboard downloadMultiple dashboards download
• Individual dashboards are downloaded as .bbix files, while multiple dashboards are downloaded as a zip file containing .bbix files.

Uploading Dashboards

Preparing Dashboards for Upload

1. Click on the following option to upload the dashboard in Bold BI.

   

2. Click the Upload Dashboards button to open the UI where you can upload the dashboards. This action will open the dashboard upload interface, where you can upload the desired dashboards.

   

3. In the upload interface follow the instructions to select the dashboard files you wish to upload.

   • After the dashboard uploads, the interface will be rendered and displayed on the user interface.

   • Click on the Browse option to navigate to the downloaded file location.

   • The dashboard files can be either with bbix or zip extension.

     

4. After selecting the required dashboard files to upload, wait for the upload process to complete.

5. You will receive a message indicating that the files have been successfully uploaded.

6. Once you see this message, you can proceed to the next step by clicking the Next button.

   

Updating Data Source Information

• The uploaded dashboards will display data sources in either Pending or Completed state.
• To update a Pending data source, click on the data source list and choose one of the following options:
  • Configure the data source: Modify the details of the data source.
  • Map to an existing data source: Link the dashboard to an existing data source.
