How to Display Additional Values in Tooltip for Bold BI Widgets When Hovered

Published:

When working with Bold BI widgets, tooltips provide a convenient way to display additional information to users without cluttering the visual presentation. Tooltips can be customized to include both dimension and measure type columns, enhancing the data storytelling capabilities of your widgets.

Adding Tooltip Fields

To Display Additional Values in Tooltip for Bold BI Widgets When Hovered, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the tooltip section of the widget you wish to customize.

2. Select the fields you want to include in the tooltip. You can choose from both dimension and measure type columns.

3. Arrange the selected fields as needed to create a clear and informative tooltip.

Formatting Tooltip Content

It's important to note that while you can add various fields to your tooltips, there is a limitation when it comes to formatting date type fields. Currently, date fields will be displayed in a standard format, and custom formatting options for date type fields are not supported. For a detailed guide on configuring tooltips in your widgets, please refer to the following help documentation: Tooltip Customization in Widgets.

By following the instructions in the documentation, you can enhance your widgets with informative tooltips that provide additional context and insights to your data visualizations.
