How to Add a Custom Line Chart Widget with Row-Level Drill Down Capability in the Dashboard

Bold BI allows you to add a variety of custom widgets to your dashboard, including a custom Line Chart Widget. A custom line chart allows you to showcase trends for analysis over a time period, with data points connecting using straight lines. Additionally, the Custom Line Chart widget offers the Row Level Drill Down feature. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Steps to Add Custom Line Chart Custom Widget

1. Download the Custom Line Chart Custom Widget: Start by downloading the Custom Line Chart Custom Widget.

2. Publish the Custom Widget to Bold BI: After downloading the widget, you need to publish it to the Bold BI application. This will make the widget available for use in your dashboards. You can find a detailed guide on how to publish custom widgets here.

3. Locate the Widget in the Designer Panel: After publishing, the Custom Line Chart custom widget will appear under the Miscellaneous section of the Designer Panel.

4. Add the Widget to Your Dashboard: To add the widget to your dashboard, simply drag and drop it from the designer panel onto your dashboard. You can place it anywhere you like.
5.  Configure the Data: After adding the widget to your dashboard, you need to configure the data as needed. Refer to the following image for reference.
   
6. Render the Widget with Row Level Drill Down: After completing all the necessary steps, the Custom Line Chart custom widget will have the Row Level Drill Down feature enabled. To do so, configure the value in the Row field as shown in the image below.
   
7. Drill Up Functionality:
   To enhance the user experience, you can also perform the Drill Up functionality. This allows users to navigate back to the previous level of data after drilling down.
