How to Create a Pivot Grid with Total for Each Month
The Pivot Grid widget in Bold BI supports row and column subtotals. This feature can be used to summarize data by month or any other grouping of your choice. Here’s how you can use the Pivot Grid widget to enable totals for each month.
Steps to Create Pivot Grid with Total for Each Month
-
Create a new dashboard or open an existing one: Start by either creating a new dashboard or opening an existing one where you want to add the total rows for each month.
-
Add a Pivot Grid widget to the dashboard: Next, add a Pivot Grid widget to your dashboard. This widget will be used to add subtotals and totals for rows/columns.
-
Configure the Pivot Grid widget: After adding the widget, you need to configure it. Select the data source and the fields you want to display in the widget.
-
Group and summarize the fields: Drag and drop the field you want to group by (such as the date field) to the Rows or Columns section of the widget. Then, drag and drop the field you want to summarize (such as Measures) to the Values section of the widget.
-
Enable/Disable Grand Total Settings: By default, the grand total settings will be enabled in the pivot grid widget. Using this option, you are able to enable or disable the pivot grid subtotals.
-
Render the widget: Once the widget has been configured, it will be rendered according to your requirements. You will now have subtotals for each month within the pivot grid.
By following these steps, you can able to add subtotal and grand total in the pivot grid in Bold BI.
