Migrate the Bold BI Database from one server to another server

This section explains how to migrate Bold BI metadata and IMDB databases from one server to another server. We need to perform the following actions to migrate the databases from one server to another:

  1. Backup and restore Meta Data and IMDB databases.
  2. Reset the Bold BI application connection string.
  3. Change the site metadata connection string.
  4. Change the site IMDB connection string.
  5. Restart the Bold BI services.

Backup and restore Meta Data and IMDB databases

Follow the given guidelines to backup and restore the databases:

Reset the Bold BI application connection string

Click here to run the utility to reset the database.

Change the site metadata connection string

  • Go to the following location: https://“App Base URL”/ums/sites.
  • Edit the sites for which you want to change the database connections.

  • Update the new database connection details and click on the update button.

  • Now your data will be stored in the restored database.

Change the site IMDB connection string

  • Navigate to the Settings Icon and click on it. Under the Settings option, select the Data process.
  • Update the restored database connection details and click the save button.

Restart the Bold BI services

Click here to restart the Bold BI services.
