How to Call a Widget via URL from Another Widget Using the Linking Feature in Bold BI

Bold BI allows you to call a widget via URL from another widget using the linking feature. This can be achieved by following the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Make the Dashboard Public

The first step is to make the dashboard public where the widget is present. Then, open the dashboard in view mode.

Step 2: Get the Widget ID

To obtain the widget ID, click on the control menu and choose the option “Get Embed code”. Then, copy the attribute value of “src.”

Step 3: Make the Linking URL

Make the linking URL with query parameters “isWidgetMode” and “widgetId” as follows.

Step 4: Create a New Widget and Enable Linking

Create a new widget and enable the linking with this URL.

Step 5: Preview the Dashboard and Apply Linking

Preview the dashboard and apply the Linking. The linking widget will be rendered in the PopUp as follows.
