Manage User and Group in Dashboard Comments
In Bold BI, users and groups that have at least read permission for a specific dashboard will be listed in the suggestion when using the “@” symbol in the dashboard or widget comments. This feature is designed to facilitate communication and collaboration with your team.
For instance, if users and groups have read permission for a dashboard, typing “@” followed by the first name, last name, or email of the user or group name will provide suggestions as shown below:
However, users or groups that do not have read permission for the dashboard will not appear in the suggestion list. This is a built-in feature to ensure that only relevant users are suggested in the comment section for communication.
By effectively managing user permissions, you can control who has access to specific dashboards and what actions they can perform. This can help enhance the security and efficiency of your Bold BI environment.
Note
- If the dashboard is public, then the suggestion list will show all the users and groups that match the search key, even if they do not have permission for the dashboard.
- If the dashboard is private, then the suggestion list will show the users only who have direct permission for the dashboard and will not show when the user is in the group and the group has read permission for the dashboard.
