How to Display a Threshold Line on a Chart in Bold BI

Published:

In Bold BI, you can display a color line on top of your chart data that acts as a “threshold level”. This allows you to easily see when the data exceeds a certain threshold. This can be achieved through the use of an expression column. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Create an expression in the data source. For example, you can use the following expression:

    Max(80)

  2. Drag and drop the created expression (VALUE) into the Value(s) section of the chart.

  3. Open the Properties tab and navigate to the Change Chart Type & Axis window.

  4. In this window, select Line chart for VALUE as shown in the screenshot below.

After following these steps, a line will be drawn on the chart widget. If a marker is enabled, you can uncheck the Show Marker checkbox in the Properties tab to hide it.

This feature allows you to visually represent a threshold level on your chart, making it easier to identify when data exceeds this level.
