How to Add a Multi Card Custom Widget in Bold BI

This article will guide you through the process of adding a Multi Card custom widget to your Bold BI application. Follow these steps to publish and use the custom widget in your application.

Steps to Publish Multi Card Custom Widget

  1. Download the custom widget: Obtain the Multi Card custom widget file from the source or attachment provided.

  2. Publish the custom widget: Use the help link to guide you through the process of publishing the custom widget to your Bold BI application.

  3. Find the Multi Card widget: Navigate to the Miscellaneous section of the designer panel in your Bold BI application. The Multi Card custom widget should be available there, as shown in the image below

  1. Drag and drop the widget: To use the Multi Card custom widget, drag and drop it onto your dashboard and bind the data, as shown in the image below. The widget will be rendered as shown.

Note: Custom widget publishing through the UI is supported only in the Bold BI on-premises build.

Improvement in the Multi Card Custom Widget

Add new improvements to the UI of the Multi Card Custom widget by making changes in the sourcefile.js file.To debug and make changes in the custom widget, follow these steps:
  • Unpack the Multi Card custom widget (MultiCard.bicw) by following the steps in the mentioned link
  • Add the debugger to the sourcefile.js file's init() method. Also, add the needed changes in the sourcefile.js file.
  • Publish the custom widget by following the steps in this link.
  • Now, open the new dashboard in the Bold BI designer.
  • Open the Developer Tools in the Browser.
  • Drag and drop the Multi Card Custom Widget in the Designer.
  • Now, the debugger will trigger.
