Adding an Additional Column Using a Filter Widget
To add an additional column to a chart widget using a filter widget, the Period Over Period (PoP) filter widget can be used. This widget allows for comparison of measure values between two different time periods, and the chart widget will be rendered based on measure values for a specific period of time compared to the results from a previous or subsequent period of time.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Configure both the PoP widget and the chart widget by dragging and dropping them into the design canvas as needed.
- Bind the Date field to both widgets to ensure it is connected.
- Add the chart widget as a slave to the PoP widget in the Filter Configuration window.
- Preview or publish the dashboard to see the changes.
- Apply the desired filter in the PoP widget to compare measure values between time periods.
- The chart widget will now display an additional column (compared two periods) based on the filter applied in the PoP widget.
By following these steps, an additional column can be successfully added to a chart widget using a filter widget.
