How to Create a Custom Salesforce App and Generate a Client ID and Secret

Creating a custom Salesforce app and generating a Client ID and Secret is essential for integrating Salesforce with other applications. Follow these steps to create a custom Salesforce app and generate the necessary credentials.

Step 1: Access the Salesforce Developer Console

Log in to your Salesforce account and access the Developer Console.

Step 2: Navigate to the Apps Manager

To create an application in Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Apps > Apps Manager.

Step 3: Create a New Connected App

Click on the New Connected App button to start creating your custom app.

Step 4: Enter App Information

On the New Connected App menu, enter the required information, including:

  • App Name
  • App Type
  • Description
  • Company name and URL
  • Upload App logo

Step 5: Set the Redirect URL

Enter a valid redirect URL for your application in the App Redirect URL field. The Bold BI redirect URL should be added in the proper format required.

Step 6: Add Scope

Add the needed scope for your application.

Step 7: Save Your App

Click the Save button to create your custom Salesforce app.

After saving, you will be provided with a Client ID and Client Secret. These credentials are essential for integrating your custom Salesforce app with other applications.
