When using a Rank Filter for a Date field in a Pivot Grid widget, it is important to understand the expected behavior when a Date field is configured along with a Category field. This article will explain the expected behavior and provide solutions to display the top records based on the Date field with Rank Filter in the Pivot Grid widget.

Expected Behavior

If the Pivot Grid widget is configured with a Date field in the Column(s) and a Category field in the Row(s), and the Rank filter (Top 5) is applied based on Date and Time, the Pivot Grid widget will be rendered with Top N filter data for each category value.

For example, We have configured the Category and Date field to the grid widget and displayed the TOP 5 records based on the Date field for each category value.

Solutions:

To display the TOP N records based on the Date field in the Pivot Grid widget, you can try any one of the following ways:

Rank Filter applied to the Filters section:

Remove the rank filters in the "configured Column(s), Row(s)" section of the field.
Configure the Date field to the filters section and select the desired format.
Apply the TOP N rank filter based on the Date field.

Change the configuration order of the Pivot Grid widget:

Change the configuration order, Date Field as Row(s) and the Category Field as Column(s).
The Pivot Grid widget will be rendered based on the Rank Filter when the Rank filter is applied with the TOP 5 based on Date field.
