How can I switch between the widget and dashboard property panels in Bold BI?
When working with Bold BI, it’s essential to understand the difference between the Widget Property Panel and the Dashboard Property Panel. This article will explain how to switch between these panels and their respective behaviors.
Widget Property Panel
The Widget Property Panel is displayed when you click on a specific widget within your dashboard. This panel allows you to modify the properties of the selected widget.
Dashboard Property Panel
The Dashboard Property Panel is displayed when you click outside of any widget on your dashboard. This panel allows you to modify the properties of the entire dashboard.
Switching Between Panels
To switch between the Widget Property Panel and the Dashboard Property Panel, follow these steps:
- Click on a widget to open the Widget Property Panel.
- Click outside of the widget to open the Dashboard Property Panel.
Note: When you click the preview button, the properties/assign data panel will close, and the dashboard preview page will open. The widget selection is not maintained in the dashboard design view after closing the dashboard preview. To reopen the Widget Property Panel, you need to select a widget from the dashboard design page; otherwise, only the Dashboard Property Panel will be displayed.
To quickly navigate to the Widget Property Panel, click the gear button on the top right corner of the widget.
