how to use common authentication token for connecting Brandwatch data source to Bold BI

In this article, we will guide you through the process of connecting the Brandwatch API to Bold BI directly using the web connector.

Prerequisites

  • A Brandwatch account with API access

Steps to Create Brandwatch Token as Dashboard Parameter

  1. Create a Web data source with the Brandwatch token API. Enter the token API in the URL and password in the parameter, then connect as shown in the screenshot. Check the data preview in the next dialog and connect to it.

  2. In the Query Designer page, drag and drop the table into the Query designer page. Then, click the dashboard parameter icon.

  3. Create a dashboard parameter in the token data source with the token column as the parameter. In the parameter dialog, for Value, select the Data source radio button and select the column access_token field.

  4. Save the parameter once you have made the above changes.

  5. Now you can pass the token to any data source that needs this token by following the syntax and screenshot provided below:

    Syntax: @{{:DatasourceName.ParameterName}}

By following these steps, you can successfully connect the Brandwatch API to Bold BI directly.
