How to Add Custom Widgets and Configuring Square Legend Shape in Bold BI

In this article, we will guide you through the process of adding a custom widget to the Bold BI server (v5.2) and configuring the square legend shape for a doughnut chart.

Step 1: Download the Custom Widget

First, download the below custom widget. This widget will be in the .bicw file format.

Step 2: Add the Custom Widget to Bold BI

1. Navigate to the Settings page in Bold BI.

2. Select the Widgets tab.

3. Click the Add New Widget button.

4. Browse and select the downloaded custom widget (.bicw) file to add it.

   

   You can find the added widget in the Custom widgets section.

   

Step 3: Use the Custom Widget in Bold BI Designer

1. Go to the Bold BI designer.

2. Drag and drop the Donut chart available under the Miscellaneous section.

3. Bind the data to the chart as shown in the image below.

   

Step 4: Change the Legend Shape Type

To change the legend shape type, follow the steps below:

1. Select the Donut chart.

2. Navigate to the Properties panel.

3. Change the Legend Shape type to Square.

   

Now, you have successfully added a custom widget and configured the square legend shape for a doughnut chart in Bold BI.
