How to Update the IP Address in Data Source Connection

When moving a database to a new server, it is common for the IP address to change. This article will guide you through the process of updating the IP address in the Data Source connection without affecting your existing dashboards.

Steps to Update IP Address in Data Source Connection

1. Ensure that the new server has the same table name and schema as the old server. This is crucial to prevent any issues with your existing dashboards.

2. Navigate to the Data Source Page in Bold BI.

3. Select the data source that you want to update and click the Edit Data Source.
   

   

4. Click the Edit Connection button.
   

   

5. Update the IP address to the new server’s IP address.
   

   

6. Then click the Reconnect button.

Your existing dashboards should now be connected to the new server without any issues. As long as the table name and schema remain the same, you will not need to redo your dashboards.
