Embedding Bold BI Dashboards with Automatic Login using Single Sign-On(SSO)

When embedding a Bold BI dashboard using iFrame-based embedding, it may be inconvenient for users to log in every time they access the dashboard. To avoid this, there are two options: setting the dashboard as public or using Single Sign-On (SSO) for dashboard embedding.

Option 1: Set the Dashboard as Public

By setting the dashboard as public, users will not be required to log in when accessing the dashboard. However, this may not be suitable for all situations, as it makes the dashboard accessible to anyone with the link.

Option 2: Dashboard Embedding using Single Sign-On (SSO)

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to access the dashboard without having to log in separately. This method provides a more secure way of embedding the dashboard while still providing a seamless user experience.

Below are the steps to perform SSO-based iframe embedding.

1. We have a separate sample for SSO-based iframe embedding. Please download the sample from help documentation.
2. To configure the sample and run it, open the Bold BI server, navigate to the Embed settings page, and enable the Enable Authentication button to generate the Embed Secret Key.
   
3. Once generated, copy the secret code. Save the secret key safely, as it will not be able to retrieve or restore this generated secret.
   
   
4. Now open the downloaded sample. Provide the secret key value and the dashboard URL that you want to embed, like in the below snippet.

5. Now, run the application to render the dashboard without login.

By using one of these methods, you can provide a more convenient and secure way for users to access embedded Bold BI dashboards within your application.
