How to Resolve User Filter Issues in Dashboards

Published:

Problem

When sharing a dashboard with multiple users, some users may see “No data to be displayed” even though the data is visible to other users.

Cause

This issue is often caused by user filters applied during the data source creation. If a user filter is applied to a data source and only includes data for specific users, other users who are not included in the filter will not see any data in the dashboard.

Solution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Edit the data source used in the dashboard and check if any user filters are applied.
  2. Modify the user filter to include the affected users.
  3. Save the dashboard to use the modified data source.

It is important to note that if the user filter does not include data relevant to the user viewing the dashboard, it is expected behavior for the dashboard to show no data. The user filter is designed to restrict data based on user-specific criteria, and if the user does not meet that criteria, there will be no data available for them to view.
