Filtering a Widget Using Columns from Different Data Sources

Published:

Filtering a widget using a column from a different data source is possible. This can be achieved by connecting the two data sources and configuring the widgets accordingly. Follow these steps to filter a chart using a column from another data source.

Step 1: Connect the Two Data Sources

First, connect the two data sources you want to use to filter the chart.

Step 2: Configure the Widgets

Configure the ComboBox and chart widgets, and bind them with the different data sources.

Step 3: Apply the Filter

If the field name is the same for both data sources, preview or publish the dashboard and apply the filter in the ComboBox widget. The chart widget will be rendered with the filtered value.

Step 4: Customize the Field (if necessary)

If the field name differs for both data sources, open the filter configuration window and choose the "Custom" option. Customize the field for both the source and target data sources by selecting the "Custom" option.

By following the above steps, you'll successfully filter a widget using a column from a different data source.
